The Worst of the Worst Disney Movies

We all have our favorite and least favorite Disney movies, but I’m sure most of us can agree on these terrible films. Everyone knows of the beloved Disney movies, Tangled, Lilo & Stitch, Tarzan, Luca, Encanto, the list goes on and on. What about the bad ones? Here’s our list of the top 5 WORST Disney movies.

#5 – Zootopia

Zootopia has an 8/10 rating on IMDb.com and a 98% Rotten Tomatoes, but we think this is far too high considering there’s nothing special about the film. It’s another movie about animals with a life lesson behind it, no big whoop. There’s nothing fantastic about the soundtrack either, none of the songs are ones that will get you out of your seat and dancing. Although the animation is very good and the characters are lovable, this movie wasn’t for us.

#4 – The Good Dinosaur

This movie has a 6.7/10 IMDb rating, along with a 76% Rotten Tomatoes. Honestly, a pretty reasonable rating considering the film wasn’t memorable at all. One reviewer says, “All the character model are gummy in comparison with the gorgeous, realistic scenery around them.” and they’re right, super simplistic characters along with an intricate and beautiful background, it’s not balanced whatsoever. Even though the story is heartwarming, it lacks the wow-factor other Disney movies have.

#3 – Chicken Little

This classic Disney movie sits at a 5.7/10 IMDb rating with a 36% Rotten Tomatoes. Although this is a bit harsh, we can see where they’re coming from. This movie isn’t exactly the prettiest to look at, the characters have a sort of creepy look to them, and it’s Disney’s first attempt at a computer animation. The story itself is a bit confusing as well, but overall, an average movie. Not something we would watch in our free time, but not something we would completely veto.

#2 – Eternals

Eternals IMDb rating is a 6.5/10 and a 48% Rotten Tomatoes. Honestly, we think it has such low ratings for a reason. This film had a complicated plot that was all over the place, and the conflict resolution was incredibly anti-climactic. The best part about it was Harry Styles. This confusing movie isn’t the worst, but it is definitely in our top two.

#1 – Mulan (live action version)

Last but not least, this sad attempt at a reboot. This film gets higher ratings than expected, 5.7/10 (IMDb) and 73% Rotten Tomatoes. This beloved Disney movie was skewed horribly, they even cut out Mushu! There is little actual connection between the original and its reboot (other than the main plotline). Disney added new stuff and got rid of the old, which never ends well when trying to remake classics. This film will never live up to it’s outstanding classic, and that’s why it’s our number one worst Disney movie.
