This year, the Landrum Dance Team made its debut. They have had their ups and downs, but overall their first year has been a success. The team danced at halftime in around half of the football games, and is planning on dancing at halftime for the basketball games as well.
As proof of their success, they will show off their skills at halftime of the Iceman game on Wednesday, December 15th. “I think everyone is ready. We have the dance down pretty well.” Said Rylee West, a member of the dance team, on weather or not they are ready. The girls have been working hard for the past couple of weeks and have perfected their routine.
The girls will wear their normal black and gold uniforms, and will add festive Santa hats, to go with their dance. Since the game is so close to Christmas, they are doing a dance to a Mariah Carey Christmas song. The song and costumes fit the festive season and will be very impressive to the audience.
Everyone is curious about how the girls will dance on the ice, but West suggested that “we will probably have a stage put out or a carpet to dance on since the ice would be too slippery” on the subject. With a stage or carpet it will be a lot easier and safer for them to dance to their best abilities without slipping or getting hurt.
Mark your calendars for December 15th and buy your tickets! The Landrum Dance Team is going to experience their first big event, so show up and show support to your peers! It will be a great experience for students, teachers, and the dancers!
